Murphey Candler Baseball works because of the outstanding efforts of our volunteers.  For the season to be enjoyed and to run well, it is important for all volunteer positions to be filled.  MCB is proud of our tradition of parent involvement; it is what has helped makes this league and park special since 1958!

Background Checks:
All coaches are required to complete a background check.  If you have questions on the background check process or whether you need to complete one, please contact your League Director.

Roles Beyond Coaching:
Business Manager
Responsible for obtaining team sponsor(s).  Each team is asked to raise $1,000 in sponsorships.  Donations are used to fund park enhancements and improve the experience for our players and their families.  Please refer to Become a Sponsor.

Pitch Counter
We care about player safety and have pitch limits.  Responsible for tracking and recording the number of pitches thrown by players during a game (required in Double A, Triple A and Major).

Scorekeeper
Assists coaches by keeping the scorebook (paper or electronic) for their team and/or running the scoreboard during games.  The home team is responsible for the scoreboard and the visiting team if responsible for keeping the official scorebook.

Team Parents
Attends Team Parent Meetings.  Assists Coaches with communication around opening day, picture day, end of season party, coordinates concession stand tickets, and collects money for team dues.  This position may be shared.  

Team Photographer
Help us capture the magical moments that happen at MCB.  Responsible for taking candid and group photos of players on the team.
